Family by Family

We want to see all families thrive not just survive

Maybe I don’t want to be a cook anymore!!

As I cast my mind back over the past year I cannot believe how my life and my plans have changed… This time last year I was studying Cert III Community Health Support: Food Services with hopes of becoming a cook in a nursing home!

After meeting Family by Family at a local community event, and becoming involved in this awesome organisation, I knew that my previous place of work was not where I would realise my true inner ambitions.

My humanitarian side, along with my general love for others, has proved to be a valuable asset in Family by Family. I have always had a heavy heart for all the sadness and unjust things I see in the world, and have done since I was a little girl. I feel what I am doing here with Family by Family is quite natural and comes easily to me. So, although I have just finished almost 2 years of study in cooking I may just go off in a totally different direction and go to Uni, like I always wanted, to gain further knowledge in this area.

I would like to pass more of the strength and courage that I have gained in my life onto others who are afraid of failure, as I once was. It has taken me almost 40 years to get to this place and I can clearly state that this is the most productive point in my life so far!

It’s great for my family too as we work together to help other families! I am loving this new chapter of my life and I look forward to even more personal growth for myself and for my family as we endeavor to enrich the lives of others!!
