Family by Family is running in Marion and the inner southern area of Adelaide.

We came up for the original idea for Family by Family in Marion in 2010 and tested it out to see if it would work. In October 2011 Marion started up properly. It was really exciting for us to be able to continue with a lot of the families who worked with us from the start.

From the beginning we have been based in the Forbes Children’s Centre. By sharing space with a children’s centre, all our families have the chance to also be connected to events, groups and activities as well as the local community.

Made in Marion

Family by Family was created in the City of Marion. We met with over 100 families, getting to know them and listening to their stories. We then came up with lots of ideas to help families, everything from helping to clean peoples lounge room to doing busy bees at families houses. Through this Family by Family was born. Family by Family was then prototyped in the City of Marion with 8 Sharing Families from October 2010 to April 2011. After this we wrote the report Going for the good life.
