Vita Maiorano

Director, Scaling Social Innovations TACSI

Vita has over 20 years’ experience in international development, community arts and business
leadership and is driven by opportunities to create and implement sustainable approaches to scale
social change. She’s successfully applied principles of co-design to co-create people focused
solutions in contexts across Australia, the Pacific and South Asia which have focused on reducing
gender based violence, support to young people to recreate their futures and support to international
social enterprises to build viable supply chains for market driven products in Australia.

At The Australian Centre for Social Innovation, Vita leads on scaling social innovations, with a focus
on Family by Family – a service model designed by families for families. Family by Family, leverages
the lived experience of volunteer mentor families, and enables struggling families make lasting
change in their lives.

With a strong interest in co-design, social innovation and social entrepreneurship, Vita is keen to
continue to push the boundaries and explore how the three intersect to create scalable and
sustainable social solutions to some of society’s most challenging social issues, and contribute to
lasting social and systems change.
