We got an award for national child protection week
Family by Family has amazing news! We were the South Australian Winners of the inaugural ‘Play Your Part Award’ for National Child Protection Week 2012.
For the last decade, National Child Protection Week (NCPW) has provided individuals, organisations and communities across the country with an opportunity to come together to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect in Australia.
The awards, an initiative of the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN), was presented to our Seeking and Sharing families in Playford at a morning tea get together at our Para West site.
Teresa Scott, President of the NAPCAN board said, “With people creating many inspiring initiatives throughout NCPW, we felt it was time to recognise the best of the best and showcase their efforts as an example to all of us as to how we can play our part”.
It is amazing that Family by Family has been recognised in this way – it means we are making our mark in the child protection field.
This award is because of the amazing work our sharing and seeking families have been doing, so well done guys and keep up the great work – we could not do it without you!!

Family by Family has won Best in Category in Service Design at the 2012 Australian International Design Awards.
